Outside Training in Street Clothes
January 28, 2012
Chetan Prakash Sensei
LOCATION: Ford Park, Redlands, CA
This will be a joint Aikido-Systema training intended to familiarize trainees with effective and safe functioning in real-world conditions. The focus will be on rejuvenation through breathing, on learning to take safe ukemi on surfaces other than flat mats, and on how to enlist the existing terrain, weather conditions, features and flora to aid in self-defense operations.
Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind muddying (and bring rain-gear and some warm clothing if necessary), a training knife and a jo or other stick. It's likely to be sunny, but in case of rain we will not cancel the seminar, unless there's a risk of lightning. In the latter case we will repair to the Dojo, Unit C, which has a wooden floor.
Pre-requisites: Basic ukemi on a mat: the ability to receive throws and pins safely. Beginners with this skill welcome.
Saturday, Jan. 28th:11:00 am to 4:30pm
COST: $40
A light lunch snack will be provided at 1 pm.
